Graphic Designer by passion. Type Designer by hobby. Fonts purchaser by requirement.

Because of the multiple editorial projects i do, i felt the need to study the details of text fonts.

"One of the things I discovered was the inconsistency between the weight name of some fonts and their weight optical appearance. Also, when i compare the same weight name between different families, many do not look the same weight.

For an editorial designer, this is not a small problem. All designers have in their subconscious an optical idea of the different weights. The designer wants a regular font to look regular and not light. Or a bold to look bold, not medium. When we have to decide, if we buy the family x or y, these inconsistencies confuse the whole process of choice in a negative way.

Because of this I develop this Weights Ruler to help Type Designers in there work. With the hope, that in the future, the consumers have the guarantee that the optical weight of a font is right with his weight name, and that applies to all type families."
